Celebrate Freedom with Riders Share
July 4th is coming soon, and what a better way to celebrate independence than riding a motorcycle?
To help you plan an awesome "Happy Birthday America" ride, we are showcasing a few bikes available for rent and a riding loop through the Santa Monica Mountains west of L.A. If you have great rides that you'd like to share, please email us!
Riding loop –
This route in the Santa Monica mountains takes you up several of the best canyon roads in the area and across Mulholland Highway, including the well-known section of tight curves known as the Snake. The 55-mile route features lots of elevation changes and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Near the Snake you’ll pass the Rock Store, a gathering spot for motorcyclists on weekends and a good spot to get water or a snack.
Start your ride by fueling up on coffee and breakfast or by meeting friends in the parking lot of Patrick’s Roadhouse on Rt. 1 in Santa Monica. Finish with a burger, beer and a view of the Pacific Ocean at the Malibu Farm Pier Cafe, which sits at the end of the pier (menu here).

Google Maps will switch to navigation mode only when you arrive at the start of the route. When you arrive at the start at Patrick’s Roadhouse, the “preview” tab will change to “start”. Hit that and navigation begins.
Enjoy the celebrations! Stay safe and keep riding,
